The Google Meet integration creates Meet links for Telehealth appointments in splose and sends them to clients in their confirmation and reminder messages, so you're not creating and pasting links for every session. You connect Google Meet by connecting your Google Calendar.
This guide covers how to connect your Google account, set up your confirmation and reminder templates, configure your Telehealth services, and create Meet links for appointments.
Before you begin
Google Meet is connected through the Google Calendar integration. Connecting Google Calendar connects Google Meet at the same time: see Set up the Google Calendar integration.
The Connect option only appears for users who have a splose calendar: Practitioner and Practitioner Admin roles. Practice Manager, Receptionist and Accountant roles won't see it.
Connect Google Meet
Google Meet connects through your Google Calendar.
Select your profile in the top-right corner.
Select My Account.
Select the Integrations tab.
Next to Google Calendar, click Connect.
Select your Google account, or enter your Google account credentials.
Allow the permissions requested.
You'll be redirected back to splose. On the Integrations page, you'll be given the option to disconnect Google Calendar, confirming that the connection is successful.
Set up your notification templates
Create Google Meet–specific confirmation and reminder templates so clients receive their meeting link automatically.
Go to Settings > Appointment templates.
Duplicate your existing confirmation template, or create a new confirmation template.
Rename it, e.g. Confirmation (Google Meet).
Edit the template and insert the {appointment_googleMeetLink} placeholder into the SMS content, from the Appointment dropdown.
Repeat for the email content.
Repeat steps 2–5 for your reminder template.
💡 To make the Meet link clickable in emails, highlight the placeholder, click the link icon, and paste the same placeholder into the URL field. See Add Telehealth links.
Configure your Telehealth services
Enable automatic Meet link creation on each Telehealth service.
Go to Settings > Services.
Open the relevant Telehealth service.
Under Telehealth, enable Create meeting with Google Meet.
Scroll to Appointment notifications and select your Google Meet confirmation and reminder templates that you created for your Google Meet appointments.
Save the service.
Create Google Meet links
Once your service and templates are configured, Meet links are created automatically.
When a practitioner creates a Telehealth appointment on the calendar, or a client books one online, splose creates a Google Meet link and sends it to the client in your confirmation and reminder notifications.
If you haven't enabled automatic Meet links in your service settings, you can still create one manually from an existing appointment; you'll need to send the link to your client yourself.
To create a Google Meet link manually:
Navigate to the Calendar tab.
Select the appointment you'd like to add a Google Meet link to.
In the side panel, select Add Google Meet.
Things to Note
If you add a Telehealth link to a service after an appointment is created, it won't send retroactively, so add the placeholder to your reminder templates as well.
Always insert placeholders from the dropdown in the template you're editing. Copy-pasting content containing placeholders from another template sends clients the literal code instead of their details.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
My appointments aren't generating a Google Meet link (or "Create Google Meeting" fails). How do I fix it?
My appointments aren't generating a Google Meet link (or "Create Google Meeting" fails). How do I fix it?
This happens when the Google Calendar/Meet permission wasn't fully granted at the time the appointment was created. Reconnect and re-authorise Google under My Account › Integrations, allowing calendar/Meet access. New appointments will then generate a link automatically. Appointments created before you re-authorised won't generate one retroactively: recreate those. You can check an appointment's change log (Appointment Details) to see whether a link was ever created.
