Add a new client

Learn how to add a new client in splose: from the Clients page, straight from the calendar, or in bulk with the import tool.

Clients are the foundation of your workspace: appointments, invoices, notes and forms all link back to a client record. splose gives you a few ways to add one, so you can create a client wherever you're already working, whether that's the Clients page or mid-booking on the calendar.

In this guide, we'll show you how to add a client from the Clients page, create one on the fly while booking in the calendar, and add clients in bulk using the import tool.

How-to

Add a client from the client page

If you want a quick and easy way to add new clients, head to the Clients tab and click + New Client.

  1. Navigate to the Clients tab.

  2. Select + New Client.

  3. Enter the client's details, then select Save.

The client's first and last name are the only required fields when adding a new client.

Add a client from the calendar

  1. Create a new appointment or support activity.

  2. Type the client's name into the client field. Select "Add [client name] as a new client"

  3. Enter the relevant client details, then select Add.

Add a client from the import page

Import your list of clients using our import tool, or schedule a data import with our team to import your clients.

Frequently Asked Questions

I've added a new client, but they don't appear when I search my client list. Where are they?

If a client you just created isn't showing in your client list, but does appear on their calendar appointments, your browser is usually showing a cached version of the list. Refresh the page, or clear your browser cache, then search again and the client will appear. The client is active the whole time; only the list view was out of date.

Can I search for a client or contact by mobile or phone number?

Yes. The search bar on the Clients page matches a client's name and their mobile/phone number, and it searches your contacts too. Type the number into the Clients search to find who it belongs to.

If nothing comes up:

  • Try the number without the country code (e.g. 0412… instead of +61 412…).

  • Check the number is actually saved on a client or contact record. splose can only match a number that's stored in your workspace; if it isn't on anyone's profile, the search returns nothing.

  • If the client is archived, make sure you're searching the full client list (archived clients show with a red Archived tag).

splose can't reverse-look-up a number that isn't stored anywhere in your workspace, but any number saved on a client or contact is searchable.
