splose AI offers seamless transcription and dictation experiences within progress notes, enabling efficient clinical documentation- whether you're speaking directly into your mic, uploading an audio file, or recording a Telehealth session through your browser.
Key things to know
Recording capabilities: AI Voice to text can record up to 120 minutes of audio per session, including during Telehealth calls.
Obtaining client consent: Practitioners are responsible for obtaining client consent before using splose AI. A consent checkbox is shown before any recording begins.
Always review summaries: Always review the summaries provided by splose AI to ensure they align with your needs before taking action. Treat it like a copilot ✈️
Initial setup: On first use, your browser may prompt you to allow microphone access. This is required to start recording.
Speaker separation: splose AI automatically detects and labels multiple speakers (e.g., Speaker 1, Speaker 2). You can rename them after recording for clarity.
Flexible output options: Once recording is complete, you can copy the transcribed text, insert it into progress notes, summarise it, or convert it to SOAP format by asking splose AI or using a saved prompt.
Recording button: A recording button appears during active sessions. You can click it at any time to refer to past progress notes while recording.
Saving transcripts: After a session, transcripts are stored in the client's files. You can revisit and re-use them anytime by clicking the ‘upload file’ button under Transcribe & dictate.
Different ways to transcribe and dictate
You can access splose AI from the progress note screen by clicking the splose AI icon in the top right, then clicking the microphone icon in the bottom right.
There are three ways to record audio for transcriptions:
1. Direct dictation through your microphone
To start transcribing or dictating a session, simply click the microphone button and click Start recording- splose AI will transcribe as you go.
2. Upload an audio file
If you’ve recorded a session externally, upload the file and splose AI will transcribe it. You can also re-use previously recorded sessions from the client's files.
3. Record Telehealth sessions via your browser tab
splose AI can capture both your voice and the client’s voice during a session, as long as the session is running in a supported browser tab. This records any audio coming from the browser tab- which is handy for your Telehealth appointments- whether it’s a 1:1 or an online group session.
Supported browsers for browser audio recording: Google Chrome, Brave and Microsoft Edge desktop only. Not supported on mobile devices at this stage.

How to record browser audio
1. Go to your splose progress note
2. Click the splose AI icon
3. Click the microphone icon
4. Tick ‘Record session through browser’
5. Click Start recording
6. Your browser will prompt you to allow microphone access- click Allow
7. You’ll be asked to select a tab to share. Choose your browser tab with your Telehealth provider page like Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams
8. Toggle on 'Share audio'
This setup allows splose AI to:
Record your voice through your microphone
Capture the client’s voice from the browser tab audio
‼️ If the Telehealth session isn’t running in a browser tab (e.g., via a separate app), splose AI won’t be able to capture the other speaker’s voice, so ensure you have your Telehealth provider open in a browser tab.
Alerts during a session
If you stop screen sharing while recording is active, splose AI will notify you and continue recording just your microphone input.
If you don’t select a tab to share, a banner will appear letting you know that only your microphone is being recorded- browser audio won’t be captured.
While recording
Once the audio has started recording, you can see splose AI transcribe in real time.
If you need to restart the recording (maybe you clicked record prematurely), you can discard and re-record using the bin icon
You can move between writing views (like wide screen or reference view) while splose AI is recording. The splose AI icon will remain active and indicate that recording is still underway.
Click Finish to end the recording.
After recording
Once you finish a session, you can:
Edit the speaker names
Copy and paste the transcript or insert it directly to the note
Ask splose AI to summarise or convert the text using a saved prompt
