Add products to invoices

Learn how to add products to an invoice in splose, and how invoicing affects your stock counts.

You can sell products alongside your services by adding them as line items on an invoice. Where you track inventory for a product, invoicing it reduces your stock count.

This guide covers how to add a product to an invoice, what happens to your stock, and what to check if your products don't appear.

Before you begin

You will need to Set up your products first.

Add a product to an invoice

The steps below outline how to add a product as a line item.

  1. Go to the Invoices tab.

  2. Select Create a new invoice.

  3. Enter the invoice details.

  4. In the items list, add a new item line.

  5. Select Product as the item type.

  6. Start typing the product name, then select it from the list.

  7. Click Create.

📝 Note: If you don't see your items here, make sure to go to the Products tab, click Manage stock and select that the product is available at the location.

What happens to your stock

If you track inventory for a product at a location, invoicing it reduces the stock count.

If you don't track inventory for that product, you can sell unlimited quantities through invoices and your stock isn't affected.

You can see stock changes in the product's stock history on the product page.

Troubleshooting and FAQs

My products aren't showing in the invoice item list.

The product has to be marked as available at the location. Go to the Products tab, open the product, and check the Available checkbox for that location.

My product is in the Products tab but doesn't show when I add it to an invoice. Why?

The product line on an invoice is a search field; it doesn't list your products automatically the way appointments and support items do. Click into the product line and start typing the product name (or type any letter and delete it) to bring up the list, then select your product.
