Get an email notification when a client books an appointment through online bookings

Learn how to email a booking notification to the practitioner and other team members when a client books online.

When a client books through your online bookings page, splose can email a notification so the right people know straight away. You can send it to the booked practitioner, and optionally to other users such as reception.

This guide covers how to turn booking notifications on for a booking page and how to add extra recipients.

How-to

Set up booking notifications for practitioners

  1. Navigate to Workspace Settings.

  2. Under Business, select Online Bookings.

  3. Select the bookings page that you would like to add notifications to.

  4. In the navigation tab, select Settings.

  5. Scroll down to Preferences.

  6. Toggle Receive a Notification Email (Practitioner) to ON.

  7. (OPTIONAL) Additional teams can also receive an email when a booking is made. To do this, under Preferences, use the Receive a Notification Email (Other), and enter the teams that you would like to receive an email when a booking is made.

The options for notifications allow you to select who will get an email when an appointment is made.

  • Receive a Notification Email (Practitioner) sends the email to the practitioner booked for the appointment.

  • Receive a Notification Email (Other) notifies additional users, such as reception.

Now, you will get an email notification when a client books an appointment online.

Things to Note

  • Notifications are set per booking page. If you have more than one, turn them on for each page you want notifications from.

Troubleshooting & FAQs

I'm getting two emails for every online booking. How do I stop the duplicate?

This usually means you're set to be notified about other practitioners' bookings as well as your own, so a single booking generates more than one email to you. Open your online-booking notification settings and turn off notifications for other practitioners' bookings if you only want your own.
